Mount SinAI Retreat May 19, 2025

At the Inaugural Mount SinAI Retreat, we brought together a powerful panel discussion to explore “The Human Side of AI.”

The conversation explored the ethical, emotional, and human-centered dimensions of AI – a crucial reminder that innovation is not just about algorithms and data, but more importantly about people. Key insights touched on the power of interdisciplinary collaboration, keeping responsibility and impact at the forefront, and that human connection is irreplaceable, even in the age of AI.

From system-wide strategy to bedside breakthroughs, our speakers delivered powerful insights on how AI is transforming healthcare across the Mount Sinai Health System featuring leadership talks by Dean Lisa Stump, Dr. David Reich, Dr. Nicholas Gavin, Dr. Michael Marin, Dr. Beth Oliver and Dr. Lea Davis.

The AIR·MS platform was also put in the spotlight, with teams from Potsdam and Berlin joining in to showcase how far we have come and what is new. Highlights included live demos of Visian and Data2Evidence, as well as a proposal for a more agile governance structure to support cross-continental collaboration.

We were thrilled to host groundbreaking technologies at our booth session, where attendees explored the future of healthcare up close, from humanoid robotics to real-time biometric sensors.

The poster session at the retreat showcased the depth and diversity of research happening across the Mount Sinai Health System in AI and digital health. From predictive modeling and clinical decision support to novel uses of machine learning in imaging, diagnostics, and patient monitoring, each poster reflected the creativity and collaboration driving this rapidly evolving field.

We are proud to be at the forefront of AI in medicine. Thank you to all who joined and helped make this event impactful!
